Learn About Fair Trade Textiles & Jewellery

You may have known about Fair Trade coffee, chocolate and bananas increasingly available for sale around Vancouver, but did you know that you could also purchase Fair Trade clothing, textiles and jewellery? If you are curious to learn more about where these products come from, what Fair Trade means for clothing and jewellery, or are ready to start browsing in anticipation of that December holiday that-will-remained-unmentioned – this is a great place to start.

YOU are invited to join La Mano textiles and clothing, Arte Filum Fair Trade jewellery, and a number of other Fair Trade vendors to celebrate the first day of their month-long Fair Trade Market on Thursday, November 3rd from 4:00pm – 8:00pm at the Cantu Building in Mt. Pleasant. The Open House will feature music, samples of Fair Trade goods (including chocolates, coffees, and teas), and a feature interview with Jennifer of La Mano and Rocio of Arte Filum to learn more about Fair Trade.

What’s happening?

• Displays and products available from La Mano (Fair Trade textiles and clothing) and Arte Filum (Fair Trade jewellery), as well as other vendors in Fair Trade
• Listen in to our Q&A with Jennifer of La Mano and Rocio of Arte Filum to learn more about Fair Trade, producer relationships, and the local Fair Trade vendors in your city
• A great social event with tastings, music, coffee and tea!

We will begin our interview at 6:45pm with lots of social time and refreshments before and after. Please join us in our official opening celebration of one month of Fair Trade in the Cantu building. And stay tuned and keep your calendars open, as this market will be concluding with Fair Trade Vancouver’s year-end Holiday Fair, Gala and bash on December 3rd. In the meantime, don’t miss this chance to learn about your local vendors and Fair Trade clothing, jewellery and learn about what the pop-up market will have on offer for the month of December.
