At the Irish Heather, Engineers Without Borders and the British Columbia Council for International Cooperation (BCCIC) jointly held "Development Drinks." The event was a social event designed to foster networking amongst the International Development community in Metro Vancouver, and over 100 were in attendance. Fair Trade Vancouver promoted Fair Trade as a means to alleviate global poverty that any International Development organization could add to their work.
