What does Fair Trade Vancouver do?
Fair Trade Vancouver promotes the awareness and sales of Fair Trade products in Metro Vancouver in order to improve the lives of people in developing countries. We use social networking and educational events in order to show people how easy it is to make a difference by purchasing Fair Trade products.
What does this mean for someone in Vancouver?
Living in a Fair Trade Town means there are many places where you can purchase Fair Trade products — so it’s easy to find ethical choices. Check out www.fairtradevancouver.ca to learn how and where to find Fair Trade products.
What is a Fair Trade Town or Campus?
A Fair Trade town is a city where people are buying Fair Trade products in large numbers, and Fair Trade products are widely available. It also means that the city government/management supports Fair Trade products and community groups. Volunteers from Fair Trade Vancouver worked with Fairtrade Canada and the City of Vancouver to achieve this status. For campuses, the status is a commitment that all University shops will sell only Fair Trade coffee, tea, and bananas.
