In addition to the game, various food and sport exhibits will be setup around the field including a booth by Fair Trade Vancouver who is supporting this event.
Purpose:
This event is to use sport to bring together youths from various socioeconomic backgrounds in the spirit of friendship and fair play.
A Fair Trade certified soccer ball will be used to symbolize the solidarity with which the participants stand and to show that we care for children in all countries.
Fair trade provides fair wages for producers in developing countries and thus helps addresses root causes of poverty and directly tackles the environment these youths (Surrey Champions Leadership Project Participants) have fled from.
It will be a GREAT event so hope to see you all there!
