Media Coverage of Fair Trade Explodes

Since Vancouver became the first major city in Canada to achieve Fair Trade Town status, press coverage of Fair Trade has exploded in Metro Vancouver and across the country. 

Cadbury’s recent decision to convert Dairy Milk to Fair Trade has also helped the media take notice of the rising popularity of Fair Trade products over the summer.

On July 6th, the Early Edition with Rick Cluff did a piece on Fair Trade versus "Direct Trade" as part of its weekly "Coffee Talk series.  The piece featured excperpts of an interview with Stacey Toews of Level Ground Trading, as well as a caution from Fair Trade Vancouver's Executive Director Jeff Geipel that customers should be skeptical of ethical claims from companies in the absence of third party verification.   Regrettably, due to copyright regulations we are not able to provide the audio clip.
